The Pacific Dawn livery update was particularly challenging. The original plates were flimed in the early 90's on 16mm film. Luckily we were able to get fresh scans done of the film, however the origianal plates were far from spectacular. The other main issue for P&O was the commercials were destined to attract the market to Pacific region cruises and the orginal ship plates were filmed in Antartica! For Fluid Post it was a case of rotoscope everthing! After clean up and colour correction, the 3D team went to work on the livery update, the colourists went to work on the backgrounds and the water, and the compositing went silly over everthing else!
